Miami receives:

Rhett Lowder, CIN (prospect)

Miami accepts. I like Lowder’s stuff and potential and even though he may well never be plus in Ks, he should have a path to playing time next year and could be a good contributor with room for growth. Black should also get PT and whilst he doesn’t hit the ball hard, he has the potential for excellent plate discipline and plus speed. The two players have similar numbers of pluses and minuses and are at a similar stage of their careers, but I am looking to build more young pitching depth, and at least I’ll be comfortable starting Lowder in away games from early on in the season.

Great catching up with Jonathon - I hope Black gets an extended chance this year (from the sound of his makeup he will work his butt off to make the most of it), and is a key piece for the Royals over the coming years!

I had no real interest in moving Lowder, but his name came up (along with Black) while Henry & I were discussing some other names. While I really like Lowder... I think i need to continue investing in Offense right now, as I still have several holes there. Value seemed comparable between Black & Lowder, so we pulled the trigger.

Pleasure chatting it up with Henry. Hoping both players pan out accordingly, & we both can win here. Cheers & best of luck to the Miami organization.
