I reached out to Jason to see if he was interested in a sign and trade for Eovaldi - while I like Eovaldi and he was strong for me last year on a one-year contract, I was hesitant to commit cap space to him long-term with his age and injury history. In Severino, I get a younger pitcher on a cheaper contract who I think could have a nice bounceback season for the Mets; if not, I still feel he provides more immediate value than a 3rd round pick.
