Cincy Logic:
After moving Semien, I had another spot open for an RFA. Cron is a guy I liked so I figured I would take a chance on him.

I figured Cron would go for more than I want to pay in free agency but I would at least get a decent compensation pick for him. In my mind, I’m essentially trading a third- or fourth-round pick for Ramirez, a prospect I really like. Good talks with Bailey.
